Blog Awards

I was recently nominated by Allison, Clara, Joy, Anne Marie, and Evie for the Sisterhood of Bloggers Award, Liebster Award, and Infinity Blog Award! Thank you all so much! I'm going to choose a few questions from each of these lovely ladies and consolidate this into one post.

1. Post a paragraph or a stanza of your latest writing project. (I guess that wasn't really a question ... will you please post a paragraph or stanza?)

Sure! This is from my WIP, Resist:

When he asked if I believed him, I nodded firmly. I would be a fool not to believe. No, perhaps not a fool … I would be a callous perpetrator, perhaps as vile as the Nazis. They knew the deeds they committed and did it without remorse. If I knew what was happening but gave it no heed, I was voluntarily allowing our people to be devoured by the wolves.

2. Do you prefer writing with pens or pencils?

Pens all the way!

3. What is one blog/blogger that inspires you to write? Please share why and provide a link!

Emily from Entirely Bonkers is just an inspiring person in general. We wrote a whole novel together, so it's proven that we work well together! If one of us is writing a story, it spurs the other to work on theirs. She's a HUGE help when it comes to editing and giving writerly advice. She's the bomb dot com. Also, Go Teen Writers has really inspired me. So much good stuff on that site!

4. Are you scared of spiders or do you think they are fun pets?

I am deathly afraid of spiders ... I'm not even joking. I HATE THOSE THINGS WITH A PASSION.

Me to my mom:

5. Would you prefer to own a dog or a cat better (if any)?

Dog! We had a dog for 15 years, so they are my favorite. Also, my brother has a sweet/crazy puppy who I like to get selfies with.

6. Do you know any languages besides English and are there any other languages you would like to learn?

No, but I'd love to learn German and French. I actually started a German course ... I should probably get back to that. Hey, I know how to pronounce Volkswagen and Luftwaffe like a German. That's a start, right? =)

7. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?

Introvert. I get excited when there's nothing on the calendar and I can just stay home all day. =)

8. What’s your favorite part about today so far?

Getting the next section of Resist re-written and that awesome iced coffee my mom made. Also, seeing my friend, Michaela, on the back of the milk carton!

9. What's one place and time in history that you'd love to travel back to?

So many!! I guess right now I'd like to time travel to 1943 Germany to meet my peoples. Who are my peoples you ask? They are Hans, Sophie, Alex, Willi, Christl, and Gisela, naturally! I wouldn't want to stay there long ... just long enough to meet them, warn them, and drink coffee with them ... maybe take them into the future with me?! =)

10. Which do you like better: Tea, Coffee, or Hot Chocolate?

Coffee. I like me some coffee.

I tag: Hanne-col, Susanna, Esther, Mary, Jessica, Michaella, Michaela, Emily, Jack, and Naomi for the Sisterhood of Bloggers award! I'm gonna be lazy and give ya'll the same questions I just answered. I just broke the tag rules. I'm such a rebel. =)

On another note, there's just one more day to enter the AWGF Kindle book giveaway! I'll be back on Friday to announce the winners!

  1. Thanks for tagging me! I love your questions and answers. I would love to join you for that cup of coffee with the White Rose Society. Such an inspiring story. I loved the expert from RESIST. I'm looking forward to reading more. Keep it up girl!

    1. No problem! =) Yes, I'm really liking the idea of us having coffee with The White Rose. Wouldn't that be amazing?! Ahh! Glad you enjoyed the excerpt from Resist!

  2. Thanks for tagging me. I haven't written on that blog in years. Not since the camera died.

    1. You're welcome! You should start blogging again! =)

  3. Aw, thanks so much for tagging me! :)
These are such fun questions; I loved all your answers, especially spiders, I'm with you there.
And Resist! Your words really make their story come to life. Are you sure you haven't already gone back in time to meet them? ;)

    1. You're welcome, Mary! Glad I'm not the only one who is deathly scared of spiders! =) Thank you for your sweet comment!! =)

  4. Oooh lovely!! Great answers!! =D

  5. Thank you for tagging me! I will have to try and get to work on the answers in the upcoming week.

I loved reading even that small sliver of "Resist". That story interests me a good deal and I do hope that I might have the opportunity to read it someday. Are you planning on publishing it when you are finished editing?

    1. No problem! Looking forward to reading your answers!

Awww, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'd like to take the traditional publishing route with "Resist" so a quest for a literary agent/publishing house will be happening soon. If that's not God's plan for this book, I'll publish it. So to answer your question, there's no definite date on when it'll be published. =)

  6. Hi, Emily! I loved your answers, and the "pwomise? You killed da spidey?" was hilarious. :D
Thanks for tagging me! I was rather excited to see my name listed. I clicked on the link you imbedded in my name...just to see if was really me (or if it was some other Esther). LOL.
Anyway, here is the link to my answers: http://commandedwriter.blogspot.com/2015/07/liebster-awards-and-so-forth.html Thanks again!

    1. Thanks, Esther!! Off to read your answers! =)

  7. Thanks so much for tagging me, Emily! I've finally gotten to answer the questions: http://jessicalg97.blogspot.com.au/2015/07/tag.html
Also, I tagged you back. :)

    1. You're welcome! Can't wait to read your answers!
