Finishing The First Draft (Newsies GIFs Style)

I've never done a blog post full of GIFs before, but the situation calls for it. Late on Monday night I finished the first draft of Resist. WHAT?! And although Resist has nothing to do with Newsies, I figured if I'm gonna do a blog post full of GIFs it has to be Newsies since I'm their biggest fangirl EVER. =)

So, here's how it went on Monday while finishing my first draft:

Me coming out of my room on Monday morning...

NOW IS THE TIME TO SEIZE THE DAY. Book, I'm comin' for ya.

So manuscript did ya miss me? Huh, did you miss me?

Take that Nazis. IN YOUR FACE.

Me in the middle as my sister sings around the house.

When my desk starts to get really messy with my books, notebooks and coffee cups and I'm all like...

My sister punching me because I was attempting to speak in German non stop and I'm not really good at it yet. (Ok, she didn't really punch me. I just really wanted to include this GIF.)

Seriously? I have to stop writing for lunch?

Time to sit back down. All right. Let's write this thing like a man.

My sister: "How many cups of coffee did you have today? TELL ME."

Me coming out of my writing lair at 11:00pm. "So guys, I'm 68,000 words into my book. So that's cool."

Wait. WHAT?! 68,000 words WOOT WOOT!!!

JUST TYPED THE LAST WORD.

I just typed the last word...*whimper*

I JUST TYPED THE LAST WORD!

NO!!!! I JUST TYPED THE LAST WORD!!! DON'T LEAVE ME STORY!

My work here is done. *puts on cool newsie cap*

After posting about finishing my first draft on instagram and seeing all the likes and comments...

Next morning: Aww yeah! Time to start editing!!

 Ain't it a fine life?!

Off to tackle some edits!

    1. So many emotions went through me while writing this book...I'm so excited to be getting it ready for people to read because I think Hans and Sophie's story really needs to be shared. It can inspire so many people. But yeah...that ending...ahhhhh =(

    1. Thanks so much, Jessica!! This book was all God. There's no way I could have written this on my own! It took me a little over 2 months to finish the first draft. =) Can't wait to share more about it in the future!

  7. Congratulations! About a billion times over! It's a lot of work to get that first draft down!

Even though I'm new around here (only a month following at most), and you don't know me at all--I'd love to be a beta reader for you if I can. Resist sounds very intriguing, and I'm loving the history you're sharing about it!

    Blessings,
